School arrangements Covid-19
10 June 2020
Following on from the letter you have received today from Cllr Abtisam Mohammed, I thought I would take this opportunity to clarify what the Bents Green position is with regards opening wider.
Bents Green is currently managing with a significantly reduced staff workforce due to clinical vulnerability and shielding. As per my previous letter, class sizes have also been reduced to no more than 6 children to encourage social distancing where possible.
As a consequence, we are not able to widen our offer more fully to include all students at this point in time. Instead we have followed Government guidance and prioritised places for children of key workers, vulnerable students who have input from MAST and social care and families in crisis.
If the Government guidance changes and we are able to offer more places I will be in contact as we would love to be able to see all of our young people as soon as it is safe to do so.
I have attached a social story to help explain the current situation to your child. Staff will continue to email and/or phone on a weekly basis to provide you with support and resources for home learning. Further resources and information can be found on our website under the Parents/Covid19 section.
Please stay safe.
