Off-Site School Activity
We aim to provide a varied and challenging curriculum both on and off the school site to ensure each student has high-quality educational and ‘life’ experiences. The staff team are very experienced and skilled in managing all the activities carefully, sensitively and, above all, safely.
For every off-site activity, staff complete a thorough risk assessment. This is done to ensure planned activities are safe, well supported and take into account the differing needs and capabilities of the students concerned.
After completing an intial parental consent pack you will not be asked to sign again for the majority of off-site activities offered by the school, (Eg. Preparation for Adulthood lessons, visits to local amenities etc.), as these activities are part of the school curriculum and will usually take place during the timetabled day.
For visits outside of the usual timetable a separate letter will be sent home giving details of the visit along with request for your consent.
On occasions, students may be transported in approved staff cars, if this is felt to be more appropriate at the time.
School Uniform
For school uniform regulations, please see the School Uniform page.
Use Of Mobile Phones/Electronic Devices In School
We ask students to agree to hand in phones/electronic devices to their Tutor on arrival at school. The phone or electronic device will be placed in a named wallet for storage in a locked cupboard. The student can collect these items at the end of the school day. Students understand that if they do not keep to the agreement they may be told not to bring a mobile phone or other electronic device to school.
What If My Child Requires Prescribed Medication During The School Day?
Any prescribed medications required to be taken by your child during the school day must be sent to school in their original packaging and should be handed into reception or given to the SEN Transport escort to deliver. We are not allowed to accept loose tablets in envelopes, etc. Parents/carers will be asked to complete a ‘Parental Agreement for School Setting to Administer Medicine Form’.
If your child has any health-related conditions which school should be aware of please contact school immediately.
