Bents Green School provides specialist education for young people aged 11-19 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions and Communication and Interaction difficulties.
At Bents Green School - Gleadless, we welcome students in Year 7 - Year 11.
All students follow the National Curriculum, adapted to their needs and abilities. Each class has its own dedicated space, fostering a calm and focused learning environment. Teaching models vary from one teacher delivering all subjects to specialist teachers in Key Stage 4, ensuring expert instruction tailored to students’ individual learning styles.
We prepare students for further education, apprenticeships, supported internships, and employment through personalised study programmes that include work-based learning opportunities.
Our Wednesday Club offers students the chance to explore new interests outside the curriculum. Each week, students select from a rotating cycle of staff-led activities, including:
- Outdoor Club
- Cooking (dishes from around the world)
- Beading and Crafts
- Relaxation and Yoga
- Sports (including games from other countries)
- Spanish
- Music
- Sensory Time
- Art
- Board Games
This enrichment promotes creativity, social skills, and cultural awareness, enhancing students’ school experience.
