At Bents Green we offer a range of qualifications which have been selected to provide recognition of the hard work and progress our students make whilst at the school. The following information is applicable to students at our Ringinglow and Gleadless sites. Details of Exams taken by our students at our Westfield Hub can be found on the Westfield School website.

Tutor Teams are happy to talk to Parents/Carers about which qualifications their child is likely to take, and the work students are carrying out in preparation for assessment. 

We invite all Y10 and upwards Parents/Carers to an Exams Presentation Evening in March. The Headteacher provides useful information about the upcoming exam season, key dates, how assessments work and how families can support their child.

Our Y7-Y11 students follow either Pathway 1, 2, 3 or 4. Each pathway works towards a range of qualifications for example  

Subject	Level
Maths	GCSE or Entry Level Certificate
English	GCSE, Entry Level Certificate or Unit Awards
Science	GCSE Biology, Entry Level Certificate   or Unit Awards
Preparation for Adulthood	Entry Level Award or Certificate and   Lifeskills Challenges

Our Post 16 students follow either Pathway 2, 3 or 4.  Each pathway works towards a range of qualifications for example

Enrichment	Unit Awards

The Awarding Bodies we use are AQA, Edexcel/Pearson, Eduqas and ASDAN and we are governed by and adhere to the General Regulations for Approved Centres set out by JCQ
