Careers Curriculum

At Bents Green School, we are proud to provide a careers programme that is inclusive, personalised, and focused on supporting every learner to prepare for adulthood. We work in partnership with employers and other stakeholders to support students to make aspirational, realistic and informed choices that will allow them to be prepared for adulthood.

We use Compass+, a national tool designed to help schools measure and improve their careers education in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks.

In our SEN setting, Compass+ helps us to:

  • Track each pupil’s involvement in career-related activities and guidance.

  • Monitor progress towards national standards in a way that reflects individual needs and pathways.

  • Record and review student destinations after they leave school.

  • Plan targeted support for students based on their aspirations, abilities, and interests.

We also gather regular feedback from pupils, families, staff, and external providers to ensure our careers programme is meaningful, accessible, and impactful. This helps us to continually improve our offer and ensure that all students are supported in moving on to further education, supported internships, training, adult social care or employment that is right for them.
